Apples
Fresh, crisp apples are tempting to eat right away, but it’s best to give them a good wash first before biting in! Store any unwashed apples in the crisper drawer of your refrigerator.
Leafy Vegetables
Leafy vegetables, like lettuce and kale, should get a good soak and rinse. Shake off an extra water and let air dry, then wrap them in a paper towel and store them in a plastic bag in the refrigerator. This will keep them fresh for longer!
Bell Peppers
Keep your bell peppers fresh and crunchy by storing them in a dry plastic bag in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator. Give them a wash before using!
Berries
Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries — they can all turn to moldy mush quickly! The best method to keep them fresh is to wash them in a water and vinegar solution (1 cup vinegar + 3 cups water), then drain and dry them with paper towels. Store them in a paper towel-lined container with a lid that’s not completely closed to let the moisture escape.
Whole Carrots
Carrots should be stored in a plastic bag in the refrigerator. Wash and peel the skin off first before using them in your meals!
