
Have you ever wondered what gives your body energy to do all your favourite activities? Well, that’s what food is for! It provides the proper nutrients to keep your body happy, active and to help you grow. Here are some tips to help you stay properly fuelled throughout the day.
Eat three meals a day
But if you’re hungry between meals, you can eat light snacks, such as a piece of fruit, to keep you energized.
Pick from all the food groups
In each meal, try to include a food from each of the four food groups: fruit and vegetables (such as an apple or sliced tomato), grains (such as cereal or bread), dairy products (like a piece of cheese or a glass of milk), and protein (like chicken or tofu).
Drink enough liquids
Did you know that most of your body is made up of liquid? Our bodies need a lot of it, so it’s important to drink water whenever you’re thirsty. You can even have a glass of milk or juice!
Have treats from time to time
Food such as chips, cookies and soda pop are OK to have once in a while. The key is to eat everything in moderation!
Plan your portions
