3 easy tips for healthier eating

3 easy tips for healthier eating

Your body needs food so you’ll have enough energy to do fun activities throughout the day. But that doesn’t mean that eating MORE food means you’ll get more energy! In fact, eating too much can actually make you feel tired. Here are some tips to help you eat better.

Eat balanced meals
A balanced, nutritious meal includes food from four different food groups: vegetables and fruit, grains, milk and milk alternatives (like cheese!), and meat and meat alternatives (like beans!).

Eat at regular times
It’s best if you stick to eating at regular times — breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a snack between meals — so you’ll be fuelled from morning to bedtime.

Eat the right portions
You’ve probably noticed you can’t eat as much as adults or even teenagers! That’s because how much you eat can depend on your age and size. Whether it’s main meals or snacks, the portion sizes should be just right for you.
